Sophomores Cody Ahrens (Mayfair HS/Hope International University) and Trevor McInerney (Cerritos HS/El Camino College) were named to the South Coast Conference South Division 1st Team from the Cerritos College baseball team. The duo combined for the best power numbers on a team that struggled to score runs at times. McInerney, who saw time and second base, shortstop and third base, batted .282 on the season with a team-high eight home runs and nine doubles, while driving in 20 runs. As for Ahrens, he batted .308 with five home runs and a team-leading 28 RBI, while he also stole four of five bases while serving as both an outfielder and designated hitter.

Trevor McInerney was named 1st Team All-Conference McInerney (pictured, left) capped off the season with a pair of solo home runs in the Falcons 4-1 win over Ventura College. His eight home runs were the most hit by a Falcon since Trevor Blood posted eight during the 2008 season. He also hit two round-trippers against Santa Ana College, while six of his eight home runs were solo shots. He went 4-for-6 with four runs in a game against Compton College and two games later was 4-for-5 with three doubles against Long Beach City College. He had a stretch where he collected hits in 12 of 15 games while going a combined 26-for-70 (.371) during that span.

Over the course of the season, Ahrens had an eight-game hitting streak (14-for-32, .438) and turned in four-hit games against both Rio Hondo College and Compton College. He had two-run home runs in consecutive games against East Los Angeles College, while he drove in a season-five runs against Los Angeles Harbor College that included a two-run home run.
