In his second stint as a member of the Cerritos College baseball coaching staff, Tony Miranda will work with the hitters. A two-time 2nd Team All-South Coast Conference selection as a member of the Falcons from 1992-93, Miranda helped the team win the conference title in his freshman season.

A two-time 1st Team All-San Gabriel Valley League selection out of Lynwood High, Miranda earned a scholarship to Cal State Fullerton, where he earned 1st Team All-Big West honors as a senior after batting. 352 with 12 home runs and 52 RBI.

Miranda was drafted in the 24th Round by the Kansas City Royals in 1995 and spent three years in their minor league system. He then played four years in the independent leagues and in his final season with the Long Beach Breakers in 2002, Miranda batted .305 with seven home runs, 43 RBI and 31 stolen bases.

He began his coaching career in 2002 with the Falcons and helped them qualify for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. From 2003-08, Miranda coached at Lynwood High and then coached at Cathedral High from 2010-13. In 2017-18, Miranda coached the freshmen at Oaks Christian High.

Miranda, 49, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton.
