Spending the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Long Beach City College, Edgar Taase is entering his second year as the Falcons linebacker coach. Prior to coach at LBCC, Taase was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Cabrillo High. He also spent time coaching at Bishop Montgomery High as their linebackers and wide receivers coach, and as a linebackers coach at Carson High.

Taase prepped at Carson High before transferring to Los Angeles Harbor College. He then went on to play at the Air Force Academy, as well as playing rugby at Cal State Long Beach.

Taase earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State Long Beach in Cultural Anthropology in 1998 and his Masters degree in Education from Cal State Fullerton in 2018.

Taase, 46, and his wife of 23 years, Faga’alu, reside in Long Beach and have five children, Elia, Ethan, Harry, Eirene and Eldyn.
