Fred Fimbres
Title: Linebackers
Year: 2nd (10th overall)

Returning for his second stint on the Cerritos College coaching staff, Fred Fimbres will work with the linebackers. He started his coaching career with the Falcons from 1994-2001 and worked as an assistant spending time coaching the linebackers, defensive backs and the defensive line for the Falcons. Fimbres was part of six bowl champion teams as a member of the coaching staff.

From 2002-2003, Fimbres was both a head coach and a defensive coordinator at College of the Desert, while in 2005, he was defensive line coach at Fort Valley State (GA) University. In 2004, Fimbres was an assistant coach in charge of the offensive line at East Los Angeles College.

Fimbres also served as head coach for five seasons (2006-10) at College of DuPage (Illinois), a NJCAA community college. At DuPage, Fimbres turned around a program that had just one victory in the two seasons prior to his arrival. From 2007-2010, he directed the Chaparrals to a winning 24-20 record, including four consecutive appearances in the Midwest Football Conference divisional championship game. In 2010, DuPage captured the Graphic Edge Bowl title, defeating pre-season nationally ranked Coffeyville (KS) College.

Prior to retuning to the Falcons coaching staff, Fimbres spent four seasons (2011-14) as the head coach at Pasadena City College and then served as their defensive coordinator from 2016-17 and offensive coordinator from 2018-2019. He spent the 2020 season as an assistant coach at Hollywood High and did not coach in 2021.

In 2011, Fimbres coached the Lancers to a 49-28 victory over Glendale in his debut as their head coach. The Lancers earned some respect throughout the SCFA National Southern Conference when Pasadena upset then nationally-ranked Fullerton, 30-20, in the conference opener. It was the first conference victory by the Lancers of any kind since 2009.

A former Cerritos College player, Fimbres was defensive back for the Falcons in 1990-91 and was a teammate of head coach Dean Grosfeld. As a sophomore, he recorded 25 tackles and received the Special Team Award. He then transferred to San Francisco State University for his junior season in 1992 and played his senior year at Azusa Pacific University.

Fimbres earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University.

Fimbres (51) and his wife Myriam have been married 10 years and have a four-year old son, Frederic. They reside in West Covina.
