Joshua Thomas is starting his second season as a member of the coaching staff. He was set to be a part of the staff for the 2014-15 season, but accepted a high school head coaching assignment. He left after the season and has returned to the Falcon program. Thomas will serve as the Defensive Coordinator, play an active role in recruiting and assist with on-floor coaching. Additionally, Thomas teaches classes on campus as an Adjunct Physical Education and Health Instructor. Prior to joining the Cerritos staff, Thomas spent five years (2009-2014) as an assistant coach and adjunct instructor at Riverside City College. During his time at Riverside City College, Thomas played a pivotal role in recruiting, on-floor coaching, fundraising and daily operations. Thomas brings eight years of basketball experience, which also includes a year as a team manager for the UC Riverside men’s basketball team (2007-2008) and a year as an Account Executive with the NBA D-League Idaho Stampede Basketball Team (2008-2009).

Thomas earned his Associates Degree from Riverside City College and graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Thomas also completed his Masters of Science Degree in Kinesiology at California Baptist University.
