On Saturday, the Cerritos College men's soccer team saw their season come to an end with a 2-1 Southern California Regional Playoff loss to Golden West College. The Falcons (9-8-5), champions of the South Coast Conference South Division, were the #15-seeded team in the playoffs and were facing the #2-seeded Rustlers (15-0-7). It was the second loss of the year to Golden West, as Cerritos dropped a 1-0 decision early in the season.

The team surrendered an early goal to the Rustlers and trailed, 2-0 early in the second half. The Falcons were able to cut their deficit in half in the 55th minute when freshman Jose Ponce (San Pedro HS) scored his first goal of the season.

Cerritos was held in check in the first half by the Rustlers, but did get several good scoring chances. They finished the game with 11 shots, with six of them on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Ivan Martin Del Campo (Granada Hills Kennedy HS) posted eight saves in the loss for the Falcons.
