Gahr HS: Selected his school’s Athlete of the Year as a senior… While on the swim team, he was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior and also garnered the Captain’s Award as a senior and junior… Reached the CIF finals in the 50-yard freestyle (22.80), 100-yard freestyle (49.58), 200-yard freestyle (1:55.00) and 500-yard (5:04) freestyle his senior season… Advanced to the final in the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle his junior and sophomore year, while he was in the finals in the 100-yard freestyle as a freshman… Voted their Most Valuable Swimmer as a sophomore… Earned the Captain’s Award as a senior and junior on the water polo team, while he received the Coaches Award his sophomore season and voted their Most Improved Player as a freshman… Spent four years on the water polo and swimming teams…

Personal: Most memorable moments were when he registered his personal best times in swimming… Would like to transfer to UC Santa Barbara… Hobbies include playing the drums… Nicknamed “Nando”… Has one sister – Kimberly (12)… Is the son of Fernando and Sandra Lua… Born in Paramount, CA on December 16, 1994…..
