Taking on Pasadena City College in a South Coast Conference meet on Friday, the Cerritos College men's swimming team came up short in a 163-91 decision. The Falcons (1-5) have one more conference meet remaining and will travel to Rio Hondo College next Friday to take on the Roadrunners and Los Angeles Trade-Tech College.

Winning three events on the day for Cerritos was sophomore Jesus Rojas (Colegio Fray Luis Amigo, Venezuela), with all three coming down to the wire. He held off the Lancers Zachary Loomer in two freestyle races, while he touched up just ahead of Jayson Wilia in the 100-yard butterfly. Rojas recorded a time of 23.37 to win the 50-yard freestyle, with Loomer finishing in 23.39, while the time of 50.34 by Rojas in the 100-yard freestyle was better than Loomer's time of 50.56. His third win of the day came in the 100-yard butterfly, as his time of 55.91 held off the 56.08 time of Wilia.

The Falcons other first place finish came in the 100-yard backstroke, as sophomore Jason Ly (Villa Park HS) swam a time of 56.87. The team had three second place finishes, with freshman Nigel Rueda (Schurr HS) accounting for two of them. He posted then in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.35) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.72). The Cerritos quartet of Rojas, Rueda, Ly and sophomore Kaito Hori (Japan) posted a time of 3:33.12 in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Ly also finished in a close third place in the 200-yard IM (2:11.70) and just missed out on catching the 2:11.37 time turned in by Leo Nuntapamote.
