Cerritos College Men’s Water Polo (2013): Earned 2nd Team All-South Coast Conference recognition… Played in 27 games and recorded 32 goals with 29 assists and 28 steals… Concluded his career with 73 assists putting him ninth on the school's all-time list… He also drew 49 ejections, which was the seventh most in a season, with his 77 career ejections ranking him fifth…..

Cerritos College Water Polo (2012): Named 2nd Team All-South Coast Conference… Finished fourth on the team with 46 goals, while also added 32 assists and 32 steals… Scored three goals in the state tournament third place game… Also tied his season high of three goals against Long Beach City College (three steals), Santa Monica College, Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, Riverside College, Occidental College, Palomar College and Citrus College… Added a pair of assists in three of those games, while he had a season-high four assists against Salem International (WV) University… Posted a season-high four steals against Rockford (MI) and Riverside College…..

Bell Gardens HS: While on the swimming team, he specialized in the 100-yard freestyle (58.0), 100-yard backstroke (1:10) and 500-yard freestyle (6:30)… As a member of the water polo team, he was a three-time 1st Team All-Almont League selection, while he was named his team’s Defensive Player of the Year as a senior… Voted their Most Valuable Player of the year as a junior and Offensive Player of the Year his sophomore season… Named the Freshman of the Year… Spent four years on the water polo team and three seasons on the swimming team…..

Personal: Would like to transfer to the Cal State Long Beach… Aspires to be a computer programmer and water polo coach… Hobbies include playing video games… Nicknamed “TJ”… Has two siblings – Alex (27) and Katie (22), who played water polo at Marist (NY) College… Is the son of Crystal Tijerina… Born in Mesa, AZ on February 24, 1994…..
