Competing at the CCCAA State Championships, Cerritos College men's swimmer Rodrigo Baca (Kennedy HS) placed in both of the events in which he competed. Swimming in both the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly, Baca placed in both events and was the lone Falcon entry.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Baca took sixth in the prelims with a time of 51.27, which put him third in his heat. He came back in the finals to post a sixth place time of 50.68, which was a personal best and put him in second place on the college's all-time record list. He was a little under two seconds off the school record time of 48.79 which was set in 2008 by Nikos Kostainis.

In his second event of the day, Baca recorded the 10th best time in the 100-yard backstroke when he was clocked in 53.07, which was just shy of his personal best time of 52.99. Competing in the championships, Baca finished in 12th place overall when he touched up in a time of 53.50. He ends the season with the second fastest time in school history in the event, trailing only the time of 50.26 by Kostainis in 2008.
