Falcons went up against Long Beach City in a dual meet

In their South Coast Conference-opening dual meet on Friday, the Cerritos College men's swimming team was defeated by host Long Beach City College. The Falcons will compete again on March 15 when they travel to Mt. San Antonio College to take on the Mounties and Pasadena City College.
Cerritos did pick up one win on the day, as Johan Gaytan (Downey HS) came in first place in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:45.33, while teammate Alejandro Velasco (South East HS) took third place in a time of 12:21.92.
Gaytan also posted a third place time of 5:37.58 in the 500-yard freestyle, with Declan Nelson (Corona HS) taking third place in the 200-yard freestyle when he was clocked in 2:04.63.
All other swimmers finished no higher than fourth place on the day.
