The Cerritos College men's tennis team had all of their players eliminated on the second day of the CCCAA State Championships on Friday. The Falcons, who opened the day with a pair of singles players and doubles teams, saw both of the doubles teams reach the Round of 16, where they saw their seasons come to an end. Last year, Cerritos players won the singles and doubles state championships.

In doubles action, sophomore Amadi Kagoma (Malezi School, Kenya) and freshman Henry Ayesiga (Malezi School, Kenya), seeded #3, suffered their first loss as a pair. Kagoma, who teamed with Nathan Eshmade to win the doubles title last season, was joined by Ayesiga and they escaped their first match of the day with a 2-6, 6-3, 10-6 win to reach the Round of 16. That win came against unseeded Thibaud Graces and Nicholas Tessi of Mt. San Jacinto College. They then were swept by #10-seeded Scott Paz and Carson Williams of Irvine Valley College, 2-6, 1-6.

The other doubles team of freshmen Mark Antoniuk (W. 124 School, Russia) and Agustin Lombardi (E.S.O.S., Argentina) earned a 7-6, 1-0 (retired) win over #6-seeded TJ Aukland and John Foote of American River College. In the Round of 16 match, the tandem were eliminated, 6-7(2), 1-6 by unseeded Kimo Barrere and Corentin Haener of San Diego Mesa College.

Kagoma, seeded #4 in singles play, was defeated by unseeded Bruno Figla of Irvine Valley College, 5-7, 3-6 in the Round of 32, with #14-seeded Lombardi losing, 2-6, 6-1, 4-6 to unseeded Paz of Irvine Valley.
