In their seven wins this season, the Cerritos College men's tennis team has shut out five of their opponents. On Tuesday, the Falcons earned a 9-0 win over visiting Palomar College and will now host Glendale College in a 2:00 p.m. match on Thursday.

The win over the Comets (3-2) was handled quickly, as the Falcons swept each of the singles matches after taking all three doubles matches. At the op of the singles ladder, sophomores Sasha Krasnov (School 106, Ukraine) and Aleks Trifunovic (Katrinelunds Gymnasium, Sweden) had the longest matches, while the final four singles players combined to surrender just four games.

The fifth and sixth singles players, freshmen Carlos Mendez (Instituto de Educación Secundaria Ies El Palo, Spain) and Biel Roca Carreras (Iguolada, Spain), both shut out their opponents, while sophomore Henry Ayesiga (Malezi School, Kenya) lost just one game. Freshman Bruno Duarte (Centro Educacional Rogêdo, Brazil), who earned a 6-0, 6-3 singles win, teamed with freshman Marcos Paulo Silvestre (Colégio Tiradentes, Brazil) for an 8-0 win. Playing in the #1 doubles position, Trifunovic and sophomore James Zhang (Shenzhen Luohu Foreign Language School, China) posted an 8-4 win, while freshmen Mukhammadjon Sanaev (Tashkent International School, Uzbekistan) and Kwang-Eun Lee (Sunny Hills HS) were extended in their 8-6 win.
