With their third shutout win of the week, the Cerritos College men's tennis team will square off against top-ranked Irvine Valley on the road tomorrow. The Falcons (9-0), ranked #2, had their match with the Lasers (3-0) postponed from earlier in the month due to rain.

Taking on Grossmont College on Friday (1-2), Cerritos went to their bench to give their regulars a breather, and they responded in dominating fashion. Three of the singles matches were 6-0, 6-0 scores, while two of them were won by 6-1, 6-0 scores.

Taking the #1 singles position on the day, freshman Bruno Duarte (Centro Educacional Rogêdo, Brazil), along with sophomore Henry Ayesiga (Malezi School, Kenya) and freshman Biel Roca Carreras (Iguolada, Spain), playing in the #3 and #4 positions, respectively, did not surrender a single game. Freshmen Carlos Mendez (Instituto de Educación Secundaria Ies El Palo, Spain) and Kwang-Eun Lee (Sunny Hills HS) dropped one game, while freshman Mukhammadjon Sanaev earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory in the #6 spot.

The day started with doubles and the Falcons collectively lost just two games. Duarte teamed with freshman Marcos Paulo Silvestre (Colégio Tiradentes, Brazil), with Mukhammadjon Sanaev (Tashkent International School, Uzbekistan) and Lee both earning 8-1 wins. Mendez and Roca Carreras shut out their opponents, 8-0.
