M. Tennis: Falcons open conference with win

On Tuesday, the Cerritos College men's tennis team opened South Coast Conference play with a 5-0 win over Mt. San Antonio, in a match that was held at Citrus College. The Falcons (10-1, 1-0) put away the shorthanded Mounties quickly, as only one doubles match and three singles matches were played. The team will host El Camino College in a 2:00 p.m. conference match on Thursday.

Sophomore Henry Ayesiga (Malezi School, Kenya) played at the #1 singles position and recorded a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win, while freshman Mukhammadjon Sanaev (Tashkent International School, Uzbekistan) moved into the #2 spot and his 6-0, 6-2 helped clinch the win. Freshman Kwang-Eun Lee (Sunny Hills HS) was inserted in the #3 spot and he came away with a 6-0, 6-1 win. The tandem of Ayesiga and freshman Biel Roca Carreras (Iguolada, Spain) played to a 8-2 win in the lone doubles match that was played.
