Hoping to continue their run toward the CCCAA Men's Tennis state championship, Cerritos College doubles pair Arthur Toledo (Goliath Academy, FL) and Bruno Duarte (Centro Educacional Rogêdo, Brazil) were defeated in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Competing at the Ojai Athletic Club, the #4-seeded tandem were defeated by the #2-seeded team of American River College's Stephen Guenard and Sam Hall, 2-6, 6-2, 8-10 and missed out on a chance to advance to the semifinals on Sunday.

It was the second meeting of the season for the Falcon pair, as they defeated the Beavers top doubles team, 8-2 in a team dual match earlier in the season. A win would have pitted the Falcons against #1-seeded Boyd Kalman and Alex Kuperstein of College of the Desert. The Roadrunners pair defeated Toledo and Duarte, 8-2 in the Southern California Championship Team Duals earlier in the month.

In singles action, #3-seeded Toledo was defeated in straight sets in the semifinals, 4-6, 0-6 by Kuperstein. Earlier in the day, Toledo posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over #6-seeded Leszek Mirecki of Irvine Valley College. The Falcons other singles player to reach the quarterfinals, #15-seeded Jan Simon (Gymnasium Auf Der Karthause, Germany/Cypress College), was also eliminated by Kuperstein, who recorded a 4-6, 0-6 score.
