Joe Billish is in his eighth season as an assistant coach on the Falcon coaching staff. Prior to joining Cerritos College, Billish served as the head coach at Santa Ana College from 2005-09. Billish graduated from Brother Rice High School in Chicago in 1988, where he won an Illinois water polo state championship. He later received his Bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania in 1993 in Heath, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recovery. He was a member of the 1991 men's water polo team that won the Eastern Conference championship and finished seventh the at the NCAA Championships. In addition, he has been a firefighter in the City of Long Beach since 1998.

Billish has also served as an assistant coach at Marina High School (1994-95), where he helped them to the CIF championship game, as well as an assistant coach at Long Beach City College from 1996-1998, where they won a South Coast Conference championship and at Golden West College from 1998-2002. While with the Rustlers, he was a part of a state championship team.

Billish is currently a coach for Long Beach Shore Aquatics and previously served as a coach for the Golden West Water Polo Club in Huntington Beach, where he taught game skills, strategy and tactics.

Billish and his wife of nine years, Gennifer, live in Long Beach and have three children – Abigail (9), Claire (7) and Matthew (6).
