Cerritos Track & Field (2012): Came in 10^th place at the South Coast Conference Championships in the 5000 meters (16:20.74) and 11^th in the 10,000 meters (34:35.96)… Also ran the 1500 meters (4:32.13) and 3000 meters (9:51.15)…..

Western HS: Did not run cross country in high school… While on the track and field team, he posted personal best times in the 800 meters (2:07) and 1600 meters (4:40)… Voted the team’s Most Valuable Player as a sophomore… Spent two years on the track and field and soccer teams and one season on the basketball team…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he recorded his personal best time in the 1600 meters at the Orange League Championships and receiving the team’s MVP… Is working on a minor in math and would like to transfer to either UC Riverside or Cal State Fullerton… Likes to play sports in his spare time… Is the older brother of Munir Kahssay, who will be his teammate this season… Nicknamed “Mufasa”… Is the son of Negib and Zahra Kahssay… Born in Ethiopia on December 27, 1989…..
