Downey HS: Was a member of the cross country, track & field and soccer teams… Helped the cross country team win the San Gabriel Valley League championship as a sophomore… While on the track team, he competed in the 400 meters (51.75), 800 meters (1:58) and 1600 meters (4:35)… Team won the league title his junior year and he qualified for the CIF Prelims after coning in third place at the league finals in the 1600 meters… Came in fourth place in the 400 meters as a senior…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he posted a time of 1:59 in the 800 meters as a junior… Would like to transfer to UC Irvine… His father played soccer in high school, while his sister Elvira (19) was on the track team… Hobbies include playing soccer… Nicknamed “Puga”… Has two other siblings – Stephanie (15) and Paola (4)… Is the son of Humberto Puga and Maria Garcia… Born in Paramount, CA on January 13, 1996…..
