At the South Coast Conference Championships on Friday, the Cerritos College men's cross country team came in fourth place with 92 team points. Host Mt. San Antonio College won the conference title with 23 team points, followed by Los Angeles Harbor College (56) and El Camino (77). Next up for the Falcons will be the Southern California Championships, which will take place on November 3 at Central Park in Santa Clarita.

Competing on the four-mile course, Cerritos had three of their runners finish in the top 21 places. The first Falcon to cross the finish line was sophomore Abraxaz Sanchez (Schurr HS), who posted a sixth place time of 21:44.6 to earned 1st Team all-conference recognition. Completing the course just six seconds apart were freshman Angel Chavarria (Western HS), whose time of 22:20.2 earned him a 19th place overall, with freshman Miguel Lopez (Downey HS) taking 21st place out of 98 runners with a clocking of 22:26.0.

Not far behind was sophomore Luis Munoz (Downey HS), who checked in with a 26th overall place time of 22:33.8, with freshman Adrian Casas (Gahr HS) closing out the team's top five runners, which compiled their team score. As part of a four-runner pack, Casas was the second to finish and came in 34th place in a time of 23:01.6.

Also running for the Falcons on the day were Cristhian Macias (Gardena HS; 23:12.7; 38th place), Alberto Cano (Norwalk HS; 23:19.4; 40th place), Jamal Awad (Warren HS; 23:39.7; 45th place), Ryan Bennett (California HS; 23:48.0; 48th place), Kenneth Jones (Los Alamitos HS; 25:12.4; 71st place), Josiah Jackson (Mayfair HS; 25:31.0; 76th place), Aleksie Dominguez (St. Paul HS; 25:48.5; 80th place), Walter Ramirez (Mayfair HS; 27:00.3; 83rd place), Clay Green (Los Alamitos HS; 27:14.0; 85th place) and Moises Rodriguez (El Rancho HS; 27:45.6; 89th place).
