As the only community college competing in the UNLV Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, the Cerritos College men's team finished in fifth place out of as many schools. Running the course at Craig Ranch Park, the Falcons finished with 113 team points, with the other four schools being university level competition. The team will now run in the Brubaker Invitational next Friday at Irvine Regional Park in Orange.

Of the 38 total runners in the invitational, Pablo Calderon (Downey HS) was the first Cerritos athlete to complete the course with a 16th place time of 28:09.2, which was two minutes off the first place time. The remaining eight Falcon runners finished in pairs, with the duo of Fabian Zuniga (Downey HS) and Jaime Quinones (Downey HS) crossing the finish line two seconds apart. Zuniga took 21st place overall in 28:25.7, while Quinones checked in with a 22nd place time of 28:27.8.

The next two finishers closed out the team scoring, as Patrick Perez (Downey HS) and Ryan Bennett (California HS) locked down 30th and 31st places, respectively. Perez turned in a time of 30:16.7, while Bennett was four seconds back with a clocking of 30:22.0. The remaining Falcons to compete on the day included Adrian Casas (Gahr HS; 33rd place; 31:13.3), Erik Almendares (Bell HS; 34th place; 31:19.2), Demian Sanchez Lopez (Schurr HS; 36th place; 32:05.9) and Matthew Alcaraz (Schurr HS; 37th place; 32:21.6).
