On Friday, the Cerritos College men's cross country team hosted the Cerritos Invitational at Don Knabe Regional Park and earned a second place finish. The Falcons finished with 66 team points and trailed only Orange Coast College, who had 29 team points. The team will compete in the Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park next Friday.

Running the 4-mile course, Pablo Calderon (Downey HS) was the first of three runners to finish in the top 17 on the day. His time of 20:45.06 put him in 11th place out of 105 runners, while teammates Jaime Quinones (Downey HS) and Alberto Serrano (St. John Bosco HS) placed 16th and 17th overall, respectively. Quinones recorded a time of 20:59.43, with Serrano crossing the finish line in a time of 21:13.99.

Not far behind was Antonio Calderon (La Mirada HS), who turned in a 22nd place time of 21:23.37, with Joshua Williams (Los Alamitos HS) the final runner who contributed to the team scoring with a 33rd place finish in a time of 22:24.31. Williams was paced by Daniel Alonzo (Artesia HS), who was 34th overall with a clocking of 22:25.25.

Also running for the Falcons on the day included Anthony Cano (Whittier HS; 47th; 23:02.56), Eliab Ruiz (Norwalk HS; 49th; 23:07.65), Jordy Mazariegos (La Mirada HS; 53rd; 23:25.51), Joe Munoz (Long Beach Jordan HS; 61st; 23:52.11), Jarrian Harrison (Long Beach Wilson HS; 67th; 24:24.94), Dhruv Patel (Cypress HS; 69th; 24:28.51) and Daniel Ramos (Warren HS; 87th; 26:47.49).
