Not only the team leader in nine offensive categories, Cerritos College sophomore outfielder Itzel Soto (Long Beach Millikan HS) was also a leader in the classroom. The outfielder, who is majoring in Biology with a 3.8 GPA, was named to the 2020 Academic All-State Team. Soto aspires to be a veterinarian.

During the abbreviated season, Soto led the team in batting (.490), hits (25), runs (20), walks (9), doubles (6) triples (2) home runs (11), on-base percentage (.526) and slugging percentage (.922) while she didn't strike out all season. Also a fine outfielder, Soto made several diving catches and committed just one error all season and had one outfield assist.

In 16 completed games this season, Soto had hits in 12 games and saw her 10-game hitting streak come to in end in what turned out to be the final game of the season. She had a four-hit game against Compton College (4-for-6, 4 runs) and slapped out three hits in two other games. She went 3-for-4 with three doubles and a walk against Long Beach City College, while three of her four home runs were solo shots.

The Falcons were tied with El Camino College in a game that was suspended on February 4. In that game, Soto had gone 2-for-2 with two walks, three runs and three RBI on a bases loaded triple. Those stats are not added into her season total became the game was never completed.
