W. Basketball: Three earn all-conference honors

A trio of Cerritos College women's basketball players have earned All-South Coast Conference honors this season. The Falcons, who ended 14-13 on the year and missed the playoffs for the first time since the 1991-92 season, finished in a tie for fifth place in the conference.

Sophomore guard Marissa Rendon (St. Paul HS) was named 1st Team All-SCC for the second season in a row after leading the team with a 13.0 scoring average, while she also accounted for 3.6 rebounds and a team-leading 3.6 assists a game. Earning 2nd Team All-SCC honors are sophomores Angela Pena (Huntington Park College Ready Academy HS) and Deenesha Bee (Pioneer HS). Pena averaged 11.0 points and 4.6 rebounds a game, while Bee finished the season scoring 7.3 points a game and led the team with a 7.5 rebounding average.

Rendon led the team with 50 three-pointers made, which included a season-high four in three different games. She scored a career-high 33 points against Fresno City College and added three other 20-point games. Pena scored in double-figures in 18 games, including a season-high 20 points against Pasadena City College, where she drained four three-pointers. Bee posted three double-doubles on the season and pulled down double-digit rebounds in five games. She scored a season-high 17 points in a win over East Los Angeles College.
