The roster for the William Penn University women's basketball team next season will now consist of two former Cerritos College players. Joining Angie Ferreira, who signed with the Statesmen a little over two weeks ago, forward Alexis Clark (Mayfair HS) has also signed to play at the Iowa-based school. She is also the third Falcon to sign with a four-year school, joining Alyssa Salgado, who inked with Life Pacific Christian College.
As a sophomore Clark earned 1st Team All-South Coast Conference South Division and averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds a game in divisional play and finished the season averaging 9.8 points and 6.6 rebounds. She tied a career-record with 22 points against Los Angeles Harbor College, as well as against Skyline College, and posted double-digit scoring in five of the eight divisional games. Over the course of the season, Clark recorded 15 double-digit scoring games and a pair of double-doubles. She was a 2nd Team all-conference selection her freshman campaign after accounting for 9.0 points and 7.5 rebounds a game.
Last season, the Statesmen went 23-9 on the year and qualified for the NAIA Division I National Tournament, where they were defeated in the first round, 55-49 by #9-seeded Carroll (MT) College. William Penn, seeded #6 for the NAIA Division I National Tournament, also lost in the finals of the Hearts of America Athletic Conference Tournament.
