W. Basketball: Alexis Clark is the second to sign with William Penn

The roster for the William Penn University women's basketball team next season will now consist of two former Cerritos College players. Joining Angie Ferreira, who signed with the Statesmen a little over two weeks ago, forward Alexis Clark (Mayfair HS) has also signed to play at the Iowa-based school. She is also the third Falcon to sign with a four-year school, joining Alyssa Salgado, who inked with Life Pacific Christian College.

Alexis Clark signed with William Penn University As a sophomore Clark earned 1st Team All-South Coast Conference South Division and averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds a game in divisional play and finished the season averaging 9.8 points and 6.6 rebounds. She tied a career-record with 22 points against Los Angeles Harbor College, as well as against Skyline College, and posted double-digit scoring in five of the eight divisional games. Over the course of the season, Clark recorded 15 double-digit scoring games and a pair of double-doubles. She was a 2nd Team all-conference selection her freshman campaign after accounting for 9.0 points and 7.5 rebounds a game.

Last season, the Statesmen went 23-9 on the year and qualified for the NAIA Division I National Tournament, where they were defeated in the first round, 55-49 by #9-seeded Carroll (MT) College. William Penn, seeded #6 for the NAIA Division I National Tournament, also lost in the finals of the Hearts of America Athletic Conference Tournament.
