For the first time since the 2009-10 season, the Cerritos College women's basketball team has won a share of the South Coast Conference championship. The Falcons (20-10, 9-1), who won their ninth game in a row with a 94-37 victory over host Los Angeles Harbor College on Friday, shared the South Division title with El Camino College. The team will find out on Monday where they have been seeded for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. With the win, Cerritos also reached the 20-win mark for the first time since the 2015-16 season.

In the win over the Seahawks, a close 19-13 first quarter was turned into a 56-18 halftime lead, thanks to a 37-point quarter by the Falcons. Sophomore Serena Rendon (Carson HS) found her shot early in the quarter and drained six three-pointers on her way to a 33-point night. It set a new career-high and marked her fourth career 30-point game. Looking to match her long-range shooting, sophomore Lynette Garcia (Downey HS/Park, MO University) netted six three-pointers to finish with 19 points.

Throughout the night, Cerritos was relentless with their attack, as they prepare to enter the postseason. Joining the offensive attack was freshman Sarah Hernandez (St. Paul HS), who posted 14 points, while sophomore Jessica Gomez (Legacy HS) concluded with 13 points. Freshman Jade Johnson (City of Angels HS) came off the bench to pull down a team-high eight rebounds in the win.
