Cerritos College women's basketball player Brianna Flores (Norwalk HS) is the first to commit to a four-year school and will be heading to the University of Saint Katherine, which is located in San Marcos. A 2nd Team All-South Coast Conference South Division choice, Flores is just one of three sophomores from last year's team.
A two-year starter, Flores averaged 8.0 points and 5.9 rebounds a game during her sophomore season, while leading the team with 18 blocked shots. She scored a season-high 23 points against Los Angeles Harbor College and posted double-digit scoring numbers nine times on the season. A three-point threat, Flores was second on the team with 25 three-pointers, and hit four of them against both Grossmont College and Allan Hancock College. Flores recorded a pair of double-doubles on the season against Chaffey College and Los Angeles Harbor, which included a season-high 11 rebounds. She also recorded a season-high four assists against Riverside City College.
She will be joining a Firebirds team that posted a 10-16 record last year and finished in ninth place in the California Pacific Conference. They lose five players due to graduation and Flores can play a dual role as either a shooting guard or small forward.
