Joining the Cerritos College women’s basketball staff for her first season is Jasmine Dixon. Highly celebrated during her playing days, this marks her first coaching assignment. Dixon was a three-year starter at UCLA after playing her freshman season at Rutgers University. As a junior, she earned Honorable Mention AP All-American honors, along with 1st Team All-PAC-10 and Honorable Mention All-PAC-10 Defensive Team. Dixon was also a Wooden Award Midseason Top 20 selection and Naismith Trophy Midseason Top 30 choice as a junior. Additionally, Dixon was invited to the USA World University Games team trials in 2007, 2008 and 2010. A two-time team Most Valuable Player and All-PAC-10 choice, Dixon missed the 2011-12 season with an injury, but returned for her senior season (2012-13) and averaged 8.2 points and 5.6 rebounds a game for the Bruins. She led the Bruins in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore and ranked 18th in the nation in field goal percentage.

Dixon prepped at Long Beach Poly High, where she was named 1st Team All-America by Parade Magazine, USA Today, Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, EA Sports and ESPN HoopGurlz after her senior season. She averaged 14.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 3.2 assists that year and was selected the CIF Southern Section Division I-AA Player of the Year, as well as the Gatorade California Player of the Year and LA Times Player of the Year. Dixon also competed in the 2008 McDonald’s All-American Game and led her teams to three straight CIF Division I state titles.

Dixon, 25, received her Bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 2013, is single and lives in Long Beach.
