Cerritos College Wrestling (2013): Placed fifth at the State Tournament at 149 pounds and went 2-2… Advanced to the semi-finals, but was defeated by the eventual state champion and came back to win his final match… Posted a 7-4 record at 149 pounds and was 15-2 at 157 pounds… Came in second place at the Southern California Championships and went 2-1 as the #2 seed… Won the championship of the Lassen Tournament at 157 pounds, which included a win in the finals over the eventual 157-pound state champion… Also captured the championship at the West Hills Tournament at 157 pounds… Placed second at the Santa Ana Tournament at 149 pounds and went 3-1… Was injured at the Fresno City Open after entering as the #2-seed at 157 pounds…..

Los Alamitos HS: Went 21-1 as a senior at 145 pounds before getting injured… Won the Sunset League championship at 135 pounds as a junior and came in second place at the CIF Championships, 10th at the Masters Meet and was a National Tournament qualifier… Also a Greco Junior Fila All-American and World Team Trial qualifier… Won the Irvine Tournament at 135 and 145 pounds, while he came in sixth place at the Five Counties Tournament at 135 pounds… Won the state championship in freestyle and was an All-American after coming in second place in Greco Roman, while he was named to the Orange County Dream Team… Placed second at the CIF Championships as a junior after winning the league championship… As a sophomore, he placed third in the Cadet Freestyle, second in the Cadet Greco Roman and was a National Tournament qualifier… Spent four years on the wrestling team…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he won the freestyle and Greco state championships as a senior and placing in the Five Counties Tournament… Would like to transfer to Arizona State University… Hobbies include surfing and wrestling… Has three siblings – Uli (23), Ric (19) and Koa (10)… Is the son of Rick Ruiz and Lana Olotoa… Born in Monterey Park, CA on July 2, 1994…..
