Cerritos College Wrestling (2014): Reached the finals of the CCCAA State Championships at 285 pounds, where he was defeated by teammate Robert Chism… Posted a 26-7 record and was an All-American selection… Placed third at the Southern California Regional Championships… Placed fifth at the Spokane (WA) Tournament and finished in second place at both the Fresno City Open and Cerritos Open… Came in third place at the Santa Ana Tournament…..

Buena Park HS: In both his senior and junior years on the wrestling team, he was a state qualifier after placing at the Masters Meet and won the CIF Championship… Earned All-County recognition and was an Orange County All-Star both years… Posted a 35-5 record as a senior and was 40-9 his junior year and was voted the Freeway League Most Valuable Player while winning the league title two years in a row… Earned All-County MVP honors and was voted his team’s MVP… Was a CIF qualifier his sophomore year… Spent three years on the football and wrestling teams at Buena Park after attending Santa Fe High as a freshman…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was winning back-to-back CIF championships… Would like to transfer to Oklahoma State University… His grandfather, father and uncles all competed in wrestling and football in high school… Hobbies include lifting weights and spending time with his teammates… Has two siblings – Dayna (13) and Devyn (13)… Nicknamed “Jess”… Is the son of Jesse and Delia Gomez… Born in Whittier, CA on May 9, 1996…..
