Troy HS: Was the Freeway League championship at 195 pounds his senior and junior season… Also named all-league both years, as well as being named their captain three years… Was a Masters qualifier as a senior after placing fourth at the CIF Championships… Won the Troy Classic and Sonora Tournament championship, while he came in second place at the Brea Olinda Tournament… Helped the team win the league championship twice… Voted their Most Valuable Player as a junior… Spent four years on the wrestling team and three seasons on the football team…..
