After the first two weekends of the season, the Cerritos College wrestling team has recorded eight wins in as many matches. On Saturday, the Falcons (8-0) earned four more wins at the Mt. San Antonio Duals. They started with a 40-12 win over Rio Hondo College and followed that with a 37-7 win over the host Mounties. The day continued with a 42-9 decision over East Los Angeles College and concluded with 49-0 shutout of West Hills College. It was the second shutout over West Hills in as many weekends and the team's third of the season.

Cerritos vs. Rio Hondo: Wins in the first four matches, including a pair of pins, enabled the Falcons to open a 21-0 lead that led to a 40-12 decision over the Roadrunners. Two more pins in the upper weights helped cap off the scoring. Sophomore Richard Pocock (California HS) held a 10-0 lead after the first period at 141 pounds and then finished off the match with an early pin in the second period. Freshman Wyatt Gerl (Downey Calvary Chapel HS) was able to earn his pin in the first period at 149 pounds, as did both freshmen Kennith Kirk (Elsinore HS) at 165 pounds and 285-pound David Zavala (Lakewood HS). Sophomore 133 pound Anthony Vargas (Citrus Hill HS) earned a 19-2 major decision, while freshman 125-pound Norberto Buenrostro (Citrus Hill HS) scored an escape point and earned a riding time point for a 4-2 win. Freshman Bryant Vasquez (Fountain Valley HS) scored a convincing 14-2 win at 184 pounds, with 174-pound Alexander Michel (Lakewood HS) coming away with a 9-8 win.

Cerritos vs. Mt. San Antonio: Four first-period pins led the Falcons to the win over the Mounties. At 149 pounds, freshman Johnathan Knowles (Santa Ana Calvary Chapel HS), as well as freshman Blake Vasquez (Fountain Valley HS) each needed just :58 seconds to finish off their opponents. It took freshman 197-pound David Van Weems (Corona Centennial HS) 1:30 to win his match, while Zavala finished his match in a mere :30 seconds. Pocock won handily, 8-0 at 141 pounds, with Buenrostro recording a shutout his 125-pound match, 6-0. Vargas had a close match at 133 pounds before coming away with a 6-4 decision.

Cerritos vs. East Los Angeles: Starting the match at 149 pounds, the Falcons won the first seven weights and eight of the 10, with four of them by pins. The first came at 157 pounds, as sophomore Dylan Moreno (Downey HS) finished his match in 1:48, while Kirk needed 1:27 at 165 pounds for his win. Van Weems won at  197 pounds when his opponent had to withdraw, while Zavala earned his third pin in as many matches. Vargas closed out the match with a pin in 3:40, with Gerl securing a 6-0 win at 149 pounds. Bryant Vasquez trailed 4-3 heading into his 184-pound match but came away with a 6-4 victory.

Cerritos vs. West Hills: The day closed with a shutout win, which included one forfeit win and two pins. Van Weems earned his third win of the day with a first period pin, as did Buenrostro at 125 pounds. Pocock scored a 19-0 technical fall at 141 pounds, while Blake Vasquez picked up a 14-4 major decision at 165 pounds. The remainder of the matches were close, with Vargas scoring an 8-6 win in overtime at 133 pounds, with Bryant Vasquez holding on for a 6-4 victory at 184 pounds. Knowles (8-3 at 149 pounds), Moreno (5-2 at 157 pounds) and freshman Isaiah Leyva (San Jacinto HS), who earned a 4-1 decision at 174 pounds, also won for the Falcons.
