Lakewood HS: As a senior, he placed third at Nationals, State Championships and the Master’s Meet  after winning the CIF Championship and Moore League title… Voted the CIF Most Valuable Player his senior season… Took third place at the Five Counties Tournament and Doc B Tournament… Qualified for the state championships as a junior after coming in fourth place at the Master’s Meet, second place at the CIF Championships and won the league title… Also took second at the CIF Championships his sophomore season, as did his team… Spent four years on the wrestling team…..

Personal: Most memorable moments were being a two-time state qualifier and three-time CIF finalist, as well as his other accolades during his senior year… Would like to transfer to Fresno State University and aspires to be a filmmaker… Hobbies include writing… His brother Zack (19) will be his teammate this season, while his father wrestled at the University of New Mexico… Nicknamed “Gonzo”… Has another brother – Braydon (19)… Is the son of Randy and Laura Gonzalez… Born on February 10, 2000…..
