Downey HS: As a senior, he finished sixth at the National Tournament after coming in third at the State Championships and winning the Master Meet and CIF Championship at 106 pounds… Was a four-time 1st Team All-CIF selection, San Gabriel Valley League Champion and voted the CIF Most Valuable Player as a senior and junior… Won the USA National championship and state championship as a junior and also finished second at the Masters Meet… Became the first wrestler from his high school to win a state title… In his sophomore year, he won the CIF championship and finished third at the Masters Meet, while he took fifth at the CIF Championships his freshman season… Team won the state title as a freshman…..
