On the strength of their 4-0 South Coast Conference win over host Mt. San Antonio College on Friday, the Cerritos College women's soccer team concluded their regular season unbeaten. The Falcons (19-0-1, 13-0-1) clinched their eighth straight conference title and will more than likely be seeded #1 for the upcoming Southern California Regional Playoffs, which will start on November 23.

In the win over the Mounties, sophomore April Juarez (Bishop Amat HS) scored a pair of goals, while the tandem of sophomore Claudia Lopez (Downey HS) and freshman Carolina Ornelas (Artesia HS) each produced a goal and an assist. Sophomore goalkeeper Alexis Carrillo (Bishop Amat HS) posted the shutout by making five saves.

Juarez got the scoring started in the fifth minute when she scored into the far post after receiving the ball at the top of the box from Ornelas. The play started when Ornelas used her speed on the outside to get around the Mountie defense, where she spotted Juarez. In the 23rd minute, Lopez sent a pass through the Mt. SAC defense to Ornelas, who made a move past a defenseless goalkeeper and chipped the ball into the net.

Prior to the end of the first half, freshman Cassie Reyes (Bishop Amat HS) pushed the ball up from the left side, where she spotted Lopez. After receiving the ball, Lopez dribbled toward the right side and scored into the far right post. The scoring concluded in the 53rd minute, as Juarez showed off her skills at the top of the box and drilled a shot into the back of the net.
