Although they haven't been dominating teams like they did in the last three state championship years, the Cerritos College women's soccer team has yet to lose a game this season. The Falcons (2-0-2) scored on a penalty kick in the 76th minute to post a 1-1 draw with host Los Angeles Pierce College on Friday. Cerritos will now fly to Texas to take on a couple of nationally ranked programs. They will face Richland (TX) College on Thursday at 6:00 p.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. game against Cisco (TX) College on Saturday.

In their draw against the Brahmas (2-0-1), the Falcons, ranked #1 in the country by the NSCAA, found themselves trailing 1-0 in the 50th minute when Jeanelly Chavez got a shot past freshman goalkeeper Ruby Nichols (Bishop Amat HS), who made six saves on the day.

But in the 76th minute, LA Pierce was called for a handball on a crossing pass from freshman Jackie Garcia (Paramount HS). Freshman Natalie deLeon (St. Joseph HS) stepped up and tied the score with her second goal of the season. The Falcons were outshot, 18-10 on the day.
