It's been 33 games since the Cerritos College women's soccer team was defeated. It came in the first game of the 2014 South Coast Conference season, and the Falcons were shut out by East Los Angeles College, 1-0. On Friday, Cerritos was held scoreless, but their defense kept Long Beach City College off the scoreboard, as well, as the teams played to a 0-0 contest. The Falcons have now gone 30-0-3 since that loss last season and will play their next two games at home, as they open with a 4:00 p.m. contest against Los Angeles Harbor College on Tuesday.

Although they were held without a goal, it wasn't without a multitude of opportunities. Cerritos (12-0-3) recorded 19 shots, with 10 of them on goal against Vikings (6-4-4, 3-2-3) goalie Evelyn Fierros. Freshman Carolina Jaramillo (Cetis 58, Tijuana) led the way with seven shots and saw five of them on goal. The Falcons maintained possession of the ball for the majority of the game and limited Long Beach City to just two shots, with none of them finding their way to sophomore goalie Ruby Nichols (Bishop Amat HS).

It was the second meeting against the Vikings, with the Falcons posting just a 1-0 win in their first encounter. At times during the year, Cerritos has struggled to finish plays and it was evident on Friday.

Sophomore defender Malia Tilton (El Modena HS) helped the team post their sixth shutout of the season by anchoring the back line.
