Playing just their second game of the season, the Cerritos College women's soccer team failed to get on the board and had to settle for a 0-0 draw against host Lake Tahoe College on Thursday. The Falcons (1-0-1), ranked #1 in the country by the United Soccer Coaches Division III (non-scholarship), will remain up north and travel to Cosumnes River College in Sacramento for an 11:00 a.m. match on Sunday.

The Falcons were limited to just a few scoring chances, with the best coming by sophomore Mia Ramirez (Torrance HS), who saw her shot from outside the box turned away on a great keeper save. Cerritos also thought they were going to receive a penalty kick, but no call was made, leaving the team off the scoreboard. Ramirez led the team with two shots on goal, as the Falcons outshot the Coyotes, 11-3.

Freshman goalkeeper Deisy Rodriguez (Katella HS) recorded her second shutout in as many games and was called upon to make just one save.
