Two players from last season's Cerritos College women's soccer team have signed scholarships with four-year schools. Sophomore defender Jacky Beristain, who played her freshman season at South Carolina State University, has signed with Western Oregon University, while freshman midfielder Stephanie Nava has transferred to Dixie State University, where she will have three years of eligibility.

Stephanie Nava signed with Dixie State University Beristain, a 2nd Team All-South Coast Conference South Division selection, scored her lone goal of the season to help keep the team's season alive. In the final minute against San Diego Mesa College, Beristain headed home a goal to send the game into overtime, where the Falcons pulled out a 2-1 win. She started 16 of the 20 games in which she appeared and was one of the anchors on the defense that helped Cerritos record 15 shutouts on the year and conclude the season with a 20-2-1 record.

As for Nava, she finished third on the team with 10 goals and was a 1st Team all-conference pick. She accounted for all three goals in a 3-0 win over El Camino College and also scored the first goal in a 2-1 2nd Round Southern California Regional Playoff game. Nava also accounted for a goal and assist in a pair of games and registered eight of her goals in the last nine games in which she played.

Joining a Western Oregon team that already consists of two former Cerritos players, Beristain will help the Wolves improve on a 3-11-2 season. She will be joining Amber Whitmore and Dana Jacobs, who played their junior years in 2017. The Blazers went 12-6-0 last year, which included losses in their final three games which kept them out of the post-season. Nava will be a midfielder and will look to add to their offensive attack.

They join Itzel Ballesteros and Maria Hernandez, who have already signed with Lincoln Memorial (TN) University.
