For the first time in his 15-year career as the Cerritos College women's soccer coach, Ruben Gonzalez has seen his team's record dip under .500. On Saturday, the Falcons (2-3-1) dropped a 1-0 decision to Monroe (NY) College, who are the #1-ranked team by United Soccer Coaches among Division I (scholarship) community colleges. The team will close out their non-conference schedule on Friday when they travel to San Bernardino Valley College for a 6:30 p.m. game.

The Mustangs (7-0-0) scored the game's lone goal within the first three minutes of the game and held the Falcons off the board. It was the third time that Cerritos has been shut out this season.

The Falcons did get nine shots on goal, with freshman Alessnadria Ramirez (Warren HS) accounting for four of them, while sophomore Valeria Corrilo (Dominguez HS) added a pair of shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Melanie Corona (El Rancho HS) took the loss in goal.
