Serving as the Cerritos College women’s soccer goalkeeper coach for her first season, Andrea Otero is no stranger to community college soccer. From 1998-99, she was a two-year starter on the Pasadena City College team and was an All-South Coast Conference selection. Otero concluded her Lancer career as their record holder in most career wins, career shutouts and single-season shutouts, which still stand today.

Otero then moved on to Cal State Los Angeles, where she was their starting goalkeeper for two seasons.

Her coaching career got underway in 2006, as she served as the goalkeeper coach at Flintridge Sacred Heart from 2006-2011. During her tenure, she helped lead them to the 2011 CIF Division I Championship, while they won the CIF State Regional championship in 2010, as well as a pair of Mission League titles.

Otero’s coaching resume also includes serving as a team staff coach for the Los Angeles Premier FC (now LA Surf) from 2008-12, and spent 2011-2016 as the middle school and high school goalkeeper coach at Marlborough School. Along with her responsibilities with the Falcons, Otero also serves as the Goalkeepers Director and staff coach for Crescenta Valley SC, who is now known as California Athletic SC since 2015. In 2018, Otero was the goalkeeper and assistant coach for the SoCal Crush FC of the United Women’s Soccer League.

Otero, who resides in Altadena, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Cal State Los Angeles in 2003.
