In a South Coast Conference three-way meet, the Cerritos College women's swimming team suffered a pair of losses. The Falcons (1-5) were defeated by host East Los Angeles College, 153-106, while they dropped a 128-112 decision against Pasadena City College. The team will compete in their final conference meet next Friday when they travel to Rio Hondo College to take on the Roadrunners and Los Angeles Trade-Tech College.

Cerritos earned one first place finish on the day when freshman Elisa Prohroff (Schurr HS) held off the field in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.14. Her closest competition came from Lindsay Jensen of Pasadena City, who took second place in 1:02.75. Prohroff also recorded a pair of overall second place showings, which came in the 500-yard freestyle (6:11.85) and 1000-yard freestyle (12:53.01).

Also checking in with second place finishes in the meet were freshmen Lindsay de Haas (Hacienda Heights Wilson HS) and Isabella Sierra (California HS), while the Falcons also took second place in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Sierra posted a time of 2:42.30 in the 200-yard IM, while de Haas took second place in the 200-yard butterfly with her clocking of 3:06.37. The foursome of de Haas, sophomore Jennifer Yanez (Gahr HS), sophomore Erica Espinoza (Bishop Amat HS) and freshman Jessica Rodriguez (Bell HS) recorded a time of 5:22.36 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Sierra also took third place in the 100-yard backstroke (1:18.48), with freshman Jackie Oliveros (Gahr HS) earning a pair of third place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (27.89) and 200-yard freestyle (2:13.85).
