On Friday, the Cerritos College women's swimming team competed in the South Coast Conference Pentathlon at Pasadena City College. Led by sophomore Jackie Oliveros (Gahr HS), the Falcons had a pair of top 10 finishes and four finishers in the top 15 on the day. The team will compete in the Golden West Invitational next Friday.

The best finish on the day for Oliveros came in the 100-yard freestyle, where she posted a seventh place time of 1:00.47, with sophomore teammate Vanessa Perez (Sonora HS) the next Falcon to finish, as she placed 18th in a time of 1:04.20. Swimming in the 200-yard IM at the start of the day, Oliveros posted an eighth place time of 2:32.29, with sophomore Lindsay deHaas (Hacienda Heights Wilson HS) and Perez placing 23rd (2:51.84) and 24th (2:52.05) places, respectively.

Oliveros paced the team in the 100-yard butterfly with her 11th place time of 1:30.90, while she also came in 11th place in the 100-yard backstroke when she touched up in 1:13.17. Perez also swam well in the event with her 18th place time of 1:17.18. It was a 21st place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke for Oliveros in a time of 1:31.46, which also led the Falcons.
