Hosting visiting Mesa (AZ) CC on Thursday, the Cerritos College women's tennis team recorded a convincing 9-0 non-conference decision. The win was the fourth in a row for the Falcons (6-1), who will now compete in the Ventura Tournament and play three matches in the next two days. They open with a match against De Anza College on Friday and then face both College of the Sequoias and Chabot College on Saturday.

After sweeping through the doubles matches, where they dropped just three games, the Falcons continued their dominance in singles play. In five of the six singles matches, Cerritos either swept both sets or lost just one game. Both freshman Kseniia Prokopchuk (School 45, Ukraine) and sophomore Itzi Torres (ITESM CEM, Mexico/Kansas Wesleyan University) earned 6-0, 6-0 wins in their matches, while sophomore Lisa Suzuki (Fujimigaoka, Japan/Seward County (KS) CC), feshman Moa Lindstrom (Dragonskolans Elitidrottgymnasium, Sweden) and sophomore Diviana Bravo (Rosa de Jesus Cordero, Ecuador) dropped just one game in their straight set win. In the #2 singles spot, sophomore Petra Such (Illyes Gyula, Hungary) had a little more trouble, but not much, as she went on to record a 6-2, 6-3 victory.

In doubles play, Torres and Bravo earned an 8-0 win in the #3 position, while Such and Lindstrom posted an 8-1 win and Suzuki teamed with Prokopchuk for an 8-2 victory.
