On Tuesday, the Cerritos College women's tennis team extended their winning streak to 11 matches in a row with a 9-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting Mt. San Antonio College. The Falcons (13-1, 3-0) will host Ventura College in a non-conference match at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
Giving sophomore Lisa Suzuki (Fujimigaoka, Japan/Seward County, KS CC) the day off from her #1 singles position, sophomore Petra Such (Illyes Gyula, Hungary) moved into the spot and posted a solid 6-1, 6-1 win. As a team, the Falcons lost just five games in singles play, with the trio of freshman Kseniia Prokopchuk (School 45, Ukraine), as well as sophomores Itzi Torres (ITESM CEM, Mexico/Kansas Wesleyan University) and Diviana Bravo (Rosa de Jesus Cordero, Ecuador) all registering 6-0, 6-0 wins. Suzuki did start the day playing doubles with Prokopchuk and recorded an 8-1 win, as did Torres and Bravo. The tandem of Such and freshman Moa Lindstrom (Dragonskolans Elitidrottgymnasium, Sweden) earned an 8-0 doubles win on the day.
