For the seventh match in a row, the Cerritos College women's team prevented their opponent from scoring a team point against them. The Falcons (14-1) posted their seventh shutout in a row, as they defeated visiting Ventura College, 9-0 on Friday. The team will now host NCAA Division III Lake Forest (IL) College in a 12:00 p.m. match on Tuesday, and they come in with a 16-1 record.

From the outset of the match, Cerritos was in control, as they lost just two games in doubles play, while four of the six singles matches were won by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

After the first two singles wins, the next four players didn't surrender a set, with freshman Moa Lindstrom (Dragonskolans Elitidrottgymnasium, Sweden), along with sophomores Itzi Torres (ITESM CEM, Mexico/Kansas Wesleyan University), Diviana Bravo (Rosa de Jesus Cordero, Ecuador) and Mary Navalta (Norwalk HS) winning easily. Torres and Bravo also teamed up in doubles for an 8-0 win.

At the top of the ladder, sophomore Lisa Suzuki (Fujimigaoka, Japan/Seward County (KS) CC) won her first set, 6-0 and then picked up a 6-2 win in the second set, while sophomore Petra Such recorded a strong 6-1, 6-2 win in the #2 position. Suziki also teamed with freshman Kseniia Prokopchuk (School 45, Ukraine) for an 8-1 doubles win, as did the tandem of Such and Lindstrom.
