Extending their winning streak to 16 matches in a row, the Cerritos College women's tennis team shut out host Riverside City College, 9-0 on Friday. The Falcons (18-1), who have shut out 10 of their last 11 opponents, will travel to El Camino College for a 2:00 p.m. South Coast Conference match on Tuesday. Cerritos shut out the Warriors back on March 1 and won five of the six singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Cerritos put themselves in good position for the team win over the Tigers (10-6) after sweeping all three doubles matches. Not slowing down, they went on to sweep all six singles matches, with #2 through #5 combining to give up just four sets. Leading the way was freshman Kseniia Prokopchuk (School 45, Ukraine), who picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win in the #3 match, while the pair of freshman Moa Lindstrom (Dragonskolans Elitidrottgymnasium, Sweden) and sophomore Itzi Torres (ITESM CEM, Mexico/Kansas Wesleyan University) each lost just one set. In the #2-position, sophomore Petra Such (Illyes Gyula, Hungary) finished off Heather Graf, 6-1, 6-1, with sophomore Diviana Bravo (Rosa de Jesus Cordero, Ecuador) recording a 6-1, 6-2 win. The #2 through #6 singles players have each only lost once this season.

Sophomore Lisa Suzuki (Fujimigaoka, Japan/Seward County, KS CC) had her hands full with Ellia Rosado in the #1 singles match in the first set before posting a 6-4 win. She got stronger as the match progressed and won the second set, 6-1. Suzuki and Prokopchuk played to an 8-4 doubles win to improve to 16-0 as a pair, while Such and Lindstrom are now 14-1 as a tandem after their 8-2 victory. Torres and Bravo got the day started with their 8-1 doubles win and are now 12-0 together.
