At the South Coast Conference Tournament, sophomore Lisa Suzuki (Fujimigaoka, Japan/Seward County, KS CC) won the singles title and teamed with freshman Kseniia Prokopchuk (School 45, Ukraine) for the doubles championship. The duo, who helped lead the Falcons (21-1) to the conference team championship, will also be key components to their Southern California Regional Team Playoff hopes, as Cerritos was seeded #1 and will host #8-seed San Diego City College at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The pair defeated El Camino College's Lina Ito and Maddie Geise, 8-1 in the conference championship match. It marked the third time the Falcon pair had defeated their opponents. It also improved their doubles record to 22-0 on the year.

In singles play, the two met up against each other, with Suzuki coming away with a hard fought 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 decision. It was just the second loss all season for Prokopchuk (23-2), while Suzuki improved to 18-3 in singles play. All six singles players and all three doubles duo have qualified for the CCCAA State Championships, which will get underway April 26 in Ojai.
