W. Tennis: Last players eliminated from state tournament

With just one singles player and one doubles team remaining in the CCCAA Women's Tennis State Championships, Cerritos College saw their season come to an end after both were eliminated on Saturday. Sophomore Moa Lindström (Dragonskolan Elitidrottgymnasium, Sweden), who was seeded #8 in singles play, was defeated in straight sets in the quarterfinals, while she and doubles partner, Alba Gonzalez (Colegio Madre Guadalupe, Venezuela), were also ousted in a quaterfinals match. The matches took place at the Ojai Athletic Club.

Lindström, who won her first three matches in straight sets, was defeated by #1-seeded Yu Seung Suh of Fullerton College, 2-6, 2-6. The South Coast Conference singles champion concluded the season with a 13-5 record.

In doubles action, Lindström and Gonzalez were seeded #5 and were also victimized by a #1-seed. The suffered a 6-1, 6-1 loss at the hands of Miri Inoue and Nicole Knickerbocker of Orange Coast College. The tandem finished the season with a 12-4 record on the year.
