
Playing their second match in as many days, the Cerritos College women's tennis team was shut out by Santa Barbara City College, 9-0 in a non-conference match on Friday. The Falcons (1-8) will get a little time of before their next match when they host Rio Hondo College in a 2:00p.m. South Coast Conference match on Thursday.
In their loss to the Vaqueros (9-1), Cerritos was only able to take five games in doubles play, while they played shorthanded in singles action. Freshman Clara Kim (Warren HS) dropped the first set of her #2 singles match, 1-6, but extended Jamaica Buyse in the second set before falling, 5-7. As for freshman Mikaela Ramirez (La Mirada HS), who played to a tie-breaker in the first set of her #4 match, but ended up losing, 6-7 (6), 2-6. No other Falcon player won more than two games in their match.
